Thank goodness teachers share. Without the ideas of my colleagues, I would be lost as an educator. Whether it's rubric development or lesson planning, I rarely create something without the input from my language arts counterpart, Robin.
In the spirit of sharing, I was not surprised when Robin walked into work today with a "blogging challenge" in hand. Although she's been on maternity leave for a few months, my partner in crime is always thinking. Using ideas from the amazing bloggers at two writing teachers, Robin created a way for Calloway County Middle School students to have the opportunity. All day today, students have been signing up to take the writing challenge!
This opportunity, although challenging, is already making headway in our school. Many students have signed on to blog for the next 30 days and, more importantly, have committed to making writing a top priority in their lives!
What in the world would we do without sharing? I'm thankful to work with someone willing to step out on a ledge, learn something new, and share it with the world.
How about you? I'd love to hear from you!
A life-long learner, constantly striving to grow, personally and professionally.
